Working with Privacy Settings

1: Use passwords and security locks
2: Make the most of built-in privacy and safety features
3: Think before you post: I always tell students that imagine their parents are looking over their shoulder before they post content on the internet. So why not tell teacher's to assume administration are reading their content. Some principals regularly check their teachers’ blogs to inquire about comments about students and the school, and assess the school’s overall climate. Don’t assume because you have an alias the administration can’t connect the dots between you and your blog. Be sensible about your content.
4: Report any concerns you have
5. Inquire about your school district’s social media policies. More and more districts are outlining appropriate behaviors in the social media world.

When You’re tagged by someone in a photo or post, who can see it?

When someone adds a tag of you in a post or photo, it's visible to:
1.The audience they chose for the post or photo
2.You and your friends (if the audience they chose is set to Friends or more)
3.Anyone else tagged in the post, and potentially their friends

Content you’re tagged in shows up on your profile (timeline). If you’d like, you can:

▪Remove posts from your profile (timeline)
▪Turn on the option to review posts before they appear on your profile (timeline)
▪Remove a tag
▪Use the Profile (Timeline) Visibility setting to exclude some people from seeing tagged posts of you on your Wall (timeline)
